Request resources for learning mandolin crosspicking combined with chord-based improvisation, plus country/folk-style songs to practice (including for octave mandolin).

Basically, my end goal is to be able to improvise my octave like this video. (Although I know he's doing an already established song). It doesn't have to be for octave's as resources for them is already pretty scarce. Any good songs to practice that are like this that have a country, folksy sound to them are also welcome.
