[DISCUSSION] if you are serious about guitar, find a teacher that will show you how to practice
Advocates finding a teacher who teaches efficient practice, outlining goals, targeting weaknesses, staying relaxed, and strategies to progress faster.

The best teacher I had was a saxophone player. Not because of the content so much (which was awesome and I learned a ton from this), but because he taught me HOW to practice, and practice efficiently. I’m a teacher and have some students who want me to really only show them songs — fine, I get it. Maybe you need direction, maybe you need someone to keep you on track. That’s fine! But please take my advice on how to practice. It may even you money because you’ll realize you don’t need me if you really know how to practice! :) My best students, and the ones who have come the farthest, are the ones who have taken seriously the following advice I have given to them: Have a GOAL Focus on your WEAKNESSES. Don’t waste precious time on things you already know how to do. Guitar is pretty much all about efficiency. How your left hand need to move from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible, and how your right hand must utilize the most efficient movement to execute properly and be completely in sync with the right hand.
